The Southwest Airlines Showcase at Cedar Crest is a televised amateur invitational spotlighting the talents of top college-aged golfers from diverse and historically underrespresented groups. The 54-hole stroke play event will feature concurrent championships for exceptional fields of 21 men and 21 women.
The tournament is brodcast accross the 3 days of live coverage (1:30 - 4:30pm CST) on GOLF Channel November 11-13, 2024.
Preceding the three days of competition there will be a Saturday evening gala dinner with a keynote speaker followed by a Sunday morning Am-Am event whereby each contestant will anchor a team of up to four amateurs for an 18-hole outing. During the morning of each day’s competition, the schedule will allow for conferences, seminars, and job fairs, not only for the participants in the event but for other area minority youth.
Eligibility criteria will include but not be limited to:
- Must be an amateur (as of Nov. 13, 2024)
- Top 10 highest ranking individuals per aggregate rankings of Showcase Selection Committee
- Highest finishing eligible participant in allied events
- Special invitation
The Southwest Airlines Showcase at Cedar Crest winners will receive:

- Exemption into APGA event
- Exemption into TX State Amateur Championship (must be TX resident)

Entry Fee:
- Fees are covered by the I AM a Golfer Foundation and include 54 holes of competition, Sponsor Am outing or practice round(s), airfare, lodging, meals, professional development activities, a player gift package, and more!Transportation:
- Air transportation provided by Southwest Airlines
- Players and families will be shuttled from the Dallas Love Field Airport to the OMNI Hotels & - Resorts Dallas on arrival day and from OMNI Hotels & Resorts Dallas to the Dallas Love Field Airport on departure day.
- On tournament days, players will be shuttled from the OMNI Hotels & Resorts Dallas to Cedar Crest Golf Course and back to the hotel after their round.Lodging:
- Omni Hotels and Resorts is providing lodging for players at no cost.

- Founded in 1919, this A.W. Tillinghast classic gem hosted the 1927 PGA Championship won by Walter Hagen as well as the 1954 UGA Negro National Open won by Dr. Charlie Sifford. The historic golf course annually hosts the AT&T Byron Nelson Operation Appreciation Pro-Am as well as the Dallas Amateur Championship.Tournament Yardages and Tees:

- The general guideline for yardages is below. The final rating will be set prior to the start of the competition.
- Men: Combo of Green/Black Tees at approx. 6,500 yards (Rating 73.8/73.2)
- Women: Combo of Gold/Silver Tees at approx. 5,800 yards (Rating 77.1/74.6)
- NOTE: Most golf courses have four (4) Par 3s. Cedar Crest has six (6). The extra two Par 3s (as opposed to Par 4s) makes the course appear about 400-500 yards short on paper due to the 2 “missing” “drives”...
- Any tee forward of the Official Yardage may be used due to course set-up or weather conditions.
